2024 - for the love of coffee

So, it’s time for the year end blog…..  and it has been a roller coaster this year.   I could never have predicted the last 12 months.  
Last year brought many coffee highs, including achieving the highest level of coffee qualifications* and purchasing a new roast machine for The Garden Roastery, giving me capacity to switch up my output, roasting fresh speciality coffee and sending it to even more customers across the UK.  This year, I have loved the opportunity to plough renewed energy and passion into the business, then the unexpected happened….

As many of you know I have a corporate career as well as running the Roastery.   For those of you who are new here, I have 30 years experience in HR, People and Corporate Culture strategy**.  
​In the spring this year I was asked to take on a broader, global role and, whilst the request was completely unexpected, it was hugely exciting!  I was surprised and incredibly humbled to be asked and so thankful for the amazing local support to enable that to happen.  So, since May this year my diary and travel has been more than busy.   With over 25 flights since May, I’ve been privileged to work with incredible people, on-line and in territory, across 29 countries and regions. ​

So what does this mean for the Roastery?

The Roastery remains my passion!! As many of you know, I am someone who is not good at stopping and whilst it would be easy to say there is too much to juggle, I am passionate about coffee and my career.   So 2025 planning is underway to ensure that I can continue to follow my dreams and do all that I need to do, whilst balancing personal commitments and down-time.  For Roastery customers, the web-site is always updated with the latest dispatch dates, so you will always know when your coffee will be ready.  
My wonderful roastery customers and followers have been brilliant, you have supported me throughout this busy time.  Thank you for the multiple 5 star reviews***, as well as your fabulous feedback and messages about my travels updates.  With over 1000 followers across facebook and instagram, I love your messages and comments telling me how much you enjoy my journey - I can’t wait to share 2025 with you all.

So from this happy (but tired) roaster, I look forward to sharing 2025 with you, after a few days of much needed rest.
